Biography - Bayreuth Germany In 1936, Telefunken and the German Grammophon company collaborated in recording parts of the Bayreuth Festival. From the recordings, nine double-sided 12" records were released on the special "Bayreuth" label, pressed for Telefunken at the Grammophon plant in Hannover and later, during WWII, at the Ultraphon plant in Prague. A new price category, "Sonder Klasse Bayreuth SKB" was created for the discs: at 5 RM apiece, they were the most expensive records in the Telefunken catalogue. The records were sold packaged as an album as well as individually, in a special sleeve. The catalogue numbers in the series were: SKB 2047: Siegmund heiß´ich – Gralserzählung 1.
