Biography - Coronet [Royal Record Co.] USA This was the first label launched by songwriter Joe Greene's Royal Record Company of Hollywood, CA. It appeared briefly during 1945, but was soon withdrawn after Coronet magazine reportedly objected to Greene's use of the name. Coronet was replaced by the Gem [Los Angeles] label. Like its predecessor, Gem was soon discontinued when Greene failed to secure rights to the name. Coronet / Gem was replaced by the G & G label in March, 1946, following a reorganization of Royal Record Company as Sepia Records Inc. cf. Allan Sutton, American Record Companies and Producers, 1888-1950, p, 440. « Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
