Biography - Cosmo    USA

Billboard ad October 13 1945 announcing the new label along with its twelve first releases.... 451 - 462..and made of "Cosmolite"
New York label owned by Harry Bank who had had lots of help from Morty Palitz and Joe Shribman among others till they all left him.
Bank brought in ex RCA employee Herb Handler who brought artists with him (Tony Pastor and Hal McIntyre) who got a clause in their contracts where they would be paid 1000 dollars per week.
In March 1946, Banks was opening pressing and distributing facilities on the west coast
Billboard reported in June 1946 that Hal McIntyre had walked out on the company due to non payment of monies and chaos seemed to reign due to Banks' financial backers wanting to dump the 1000 dollars per week contract clause
Mid 1946 Cosmo stock was offered to the public...and the public lost lots of money and the ensuing court-case in late 1946, accused those running Cosmo of misrepresenting the company's assets. Cosmo was declared bankrupt the following year
