Started June 1949 from 767 10th Avenue, New York, later moving to 520 W. 50th Street. First issue Derby 711 by Freddie Mitchell Orchestra "The Derby". Filed for bankrupcy October 1954. Masters sold to Eli Oberstein's Record Corporation of America. Newton co-founded the Am-Par Corporation, as National Sales Manager, which eventually became ABC Paramount Records, in 1955 and rose to be President.
