Biography - Dot USA Founded in 1951 by Randolph "Randy" Wood and Gene Nobles in Gallatin, Tennessee (near Nashville). In 1956, the company moved to Hollywood, CA; in 1957, it was acquired by Paramount Pictures. The label was active until 1979.
