Biography - Homocord    Germany

German label founded by Hermann Eisner in Berlin as Homophon in 1904 and active until 1932. The name became Homokord in August 1911 (in England Homochord) and Homocord in 1924.

In 1925, the British company Columbia took over the British branch of Homochord and licensed its matrices to the German Homocord. That same year, the Carl-Lindström-AG acquired the German Homochord. On October 5, 1926, Columbia Graphophone Co (UK) bought Lindström, and Homochord joined a new global concern, which also included Pathé (France) and Columbia Phonograph Company, Inc. (USA).

From 1925-1929, Homocord Lilliput issued 6" children's records; Homocord Electro disks appeared from March 1926. Lindström discontinued the label in 1932.
