Biography - Jewel USA U.S. budget label, active 1927-1932, owned by the Regal Record Company, Inc. and pressed by the Scranton Button Company. Earliest issues had black-on-green labels. The more common gold-on-red labels first appeared in 1928. After July 1929, when the Regal Record Company, Inc. merged with the Scranton Button Company, the Cameo Record Corporation, and the Pathé Phonograph & Radio Corp. to form the American Record Corporation (ARC), the company name Jewel Record Company at the bottom of the labels is replaced with "Made in U.S.A." Releases were usually identical to those on another Regal label, Oriole, and used similar catalog numbers (Oriole 1100 = Jewel 5100). « Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
