Biography - King    USA

Cincinnati label founded in 1943 by Syd Nathan that played an important role in the development of rhythm & blues, country music, and bluegrass.
NB: From April 1949 to mid-1952, King had its A sides marked “AA” and B sides marked “A”.

The earliest King labels (number 500 from November 1943 to number 543 from July 1946) feature the crown at the top in front of a hatched background and show a framed licensing text at the bottom of the label.
