Started by Maurice Rapaport who was jumped on with heavy boots by MGM records who won a cease and desist case - stating his label name was too near theirs. He was given time to change to a better name and destroy all stocks of Metro records. - He didn't bother ,and in May 1948 was being charged with contempt of court and being a general nuisance and facing a prison term
