Biography - Modern USA Los Angeles, CA, label founded by three brothers, Jules, Saul, and Joe Bihari. Active 1945-1957. Originally founded as "Modern Music", the label name changed to "Modern Records, Hollywood" in September 1947. Modern (Music) released a 100/200 series and a 500-800 series. The 500 series, in contrast to the 100/200 series, had a 20-prefix (20-500), continued in the 600/700/800 series until #20-823; strangely numbers 807 to 813 were issued without the 20-prefix; after that, the prefix appears again until #825 (823?) in mid-1951, after which it is abandoned. « Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
