Biography - Oriole USA U.S. budget label, active 1923-1938, owned by the Regal Record Company, Inc. and pressed by the Scranton Button Company for sale at J.G. McCrory's five and dime stores; in July 1929, both companies merged to form the American Record Corporation. Between 1927-1932, releases were usually identical to those on another Regal label, Jewel, and used similar catalog numbers (Oriole 1100 = Jewel 5100). After 1929, releases often copied two other ARC labels, Romeo and Melotone. « Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
