Biography - Phoenix UK Phoenix (shown as Phœnix on label) were sold by Columbia, as sole concessionaires from 1913-1914. Many of them use Columbia matrices. In 1913 Columbia decided to enter the budget record market. It gained a sole concession from the Phoenix Record Co. and these discs were sold for 1/1d (~£0.05) in comparison to its normal price for Columbia records of 2/6d (£0.125). Regal discs were priced at 1/6d (£0.075) when introduced in February 1914.
