Biography - Rainbow    USA

Established in 1947, owned by Harry Fromkes and Herb Hendler, with Eddie Heller as Sales Promotion manager.
By 1949 Heller seemed to be in full charge, signing and even managing his artists.
In its first year Rainbow were listening to the needs of the juke box operators and made sure their discs ran for around two minutes. Longer recordings meant that juke boxes earned less money every hour

Closely associated with Larry Newton and his Derby label. Originally Rainbow even shared the same accommodation address and advertising costs. This ended September 1950 when both companies needed more space for themselves.

In 1951 Heller was reported as being ill but he returned to work in October after five months and began business as usual.

In May 1952, Heller's biggest artist, Eddie "Piano" Miller, was suing for underpayment of royalties and had moved to RCA Victor.

In January 1957, Heller resigned from Rainbow and joined RCA Victor as Musical Director of Pop Albums.

February 1959, Heller begins work with MGM as A&R man.
August 1961 Heller begins work with 20th Century Fox as A&R man.
