Biography - Regal Zonophone Australia Record label introduced in Australia in May 1933 after the merger of Regal and Zonophone. Catalog numbers below ca. G21650 are reissues of material previously released on Regal and are entered here under their original release date. Label bio The first Regal Zonophone records in Australia, born from the merging of the Regal and Zonophone labels, were released in May, 1933. DISCOGRAPHY A good discography can be found at www.78rpm.net.nz. The catalogue numbers mostly follow on from the Regal G20000 10" / G30000 12" series'. Reissues of old Regal and Zonophone records, however, use the catalogue numbers they were originally released with. LABEL GUIDE In total, there were 8 changes in label design from inception (in Australia) in 1933 to the end of the label in 1958. The changes are as follows: 1. red, gold, white & bright green 2. red, gold, white & darker green 3. red & gold - company details: "Columbia Graphophone (Aust.) Ltd." 4. red & gold - company details: "Columbia Graphophone (Aust.) Pty.
