Biography - Roost

According to Billboard September 1949 :- Sammy Kaye and Jack Hooke bought out Roost Records from Monte Kay who ran the label as part of his Royal Roost Jazz Nightclub- now closed.
Teddy Reig joined Hooke with Ralph Watkins and ran the label as part of the Regal Records Group. Morris Levy, prior to opening Roulette Records, was in discussions to buy 50% of Roost in July 1955 but nothing came to fruition. March 1956 and he is still showing interest in having part of the label.and eventually took over ownership.
