Biography - The Twin UK The Twin label issued double-sided 10 inch records, many bearing aliases for the true recording artist. It was owned by The Gramophone Company, better known as His Masters Voice. The first records were issued in August 1908, and in May 1911 The Twin was amalgamated with Zonophone to form the Zonophone-The Twin label. The numbering scheme used for records is in blocks of 1,000 as follows: T-2000 up : Male Vocal T-3000 up: Female Vocal T-4000 up: Combined Voices T-5000 up: Bands and Instrumentals T-6000 up: Chorus, Descriptive and Miscellaneous. Although the first list of August 1908 and subsequent lists showed records with serials, these serials were not printed on the early labels. Serials were added on later labels. Labels were originally light beige in colour, but later changed to yellow ochre. A later variation of label design contains 'Trade Mark Registered' under the logo, which was registered in December 1909.
