Die Kitty-Sisters - Biography

The "Kitty Sisters" was an alias-Name for the Austrian female-singer Ernestine Geisbiegler(or Ernie Bieler). Ernie Bieler was a very popular Jazz-singer in the 1950-60 period. She recorded under the Name of Ernie Bieler on the German Polydor Label, but she changed in the year 1956 to Polydors subsidiary-label HELIODOR to record some nice coverversions of US-American Songs under the pseudonym-Name "Kitty Sisters". She recorded tracks by Nat King Cole, Teresa Brewer, Janis Martin, McGuire Sisters and from The Chordettes. She sang in the Studio with double-track-method. So it sounds like a Girls-Group, and not like a solo-singer. She was Born on Mai the 18th 1925 in Vienna, Austria and she died on July the 11th 2002 in Vienna, too.
At the beginning of her career, she sung Jazz with Hans Koller in the Hot Club Vienna. I the mid 1960 she recorded some Austrian Opera Songs for the Labels Amedeo(Austrian record Label) and Ariola. In the 1970s and 1980 she was invited for various TV-Shows.
