Die Kleine Cornelia - Biography

  

"Die Kleine Cornelia" / "The little Cornelia" is the stage-name of the German child and teenager singer Cornelia Froboes. She was born on October, the 28th in 1943.
Her father, Gerhard Froboess, was a German composer, sound-engineer and publisher. (10.05.1906 - 26.02.1976). He wrote some of the well known songs for his teenager-daughter for the Electrola record-company.
Father Froboess wrote in 1951 the popular song "Pack die Badehose ein" originally for the German classical childrens-choir "Die Schöneberger Sängerknaben", but they didn´t recorded it. So, Little Cornelia sung that tune and it was a very big hit in Germany in those days.
She bacame a teenage idol in the late Fifties and early Sixties with some German versions of US-songs. She recorded for Electrola and Columbia records. In 1962 she sung the hit-tune "Zwei kleine Italiener" (Two little italians). That song was recorded in dutch, englisch and italian langugage as "Twee kleine Italianen", "Gino" and "Un bacio all´italiana".
Later, she was going to start a carreer as an actress, too.
Today she is still in a good health shape and she works for the Theatre and for Television-projects. She has two grown up children.
