Eddie Constantine - BiographyEddy (Eddie) Constantin (Constantine) was born on October, 29th in 1913 in Los Angeles, USA and he died on February, 25th 1993 in Wiesbaden, Germany. He was an American born singer, actor and entertainer , who spent most of his career in France and in Germany, too. He became a well-known film-actor in the field of action-movies, mostly produced in France. He portrayed the secret-agent and detective "Lemmy Caution". In France, he had apperances in the well known Moulin Rouge club. He got in contact with Edith Piaf and he helped her with english versions of her songs La Vie En Rose / Edith Piaf sings in english. In the 1950s Constantine was very popular in France because of his apperances in several detective-movies like "This man is dangerous", "Your turn darling" and others. Some of his movies are a little bit "James Bond-like". He recorded some songs in German language for the Electrola and Ariola-record companies in the 1950s and 1960s, also together with his daughter Tania. In his movies Constantine is a suave-talking, seductive, smooth-guy although he often played that for laughs.
