Petre Alexandru - Biography* July 30, 1898, Râmnicu Vâlcea † August 1st, 1978, Bucharest Petre Alexandru was romanian chanson, tango singer, husband of Romanian singer Mia Braia between 1936-1950. Studied canto with Dumitru Mihăilescu-Toscani and Leo Kalmuschi in Bucharest. Start working first as a painter of churches 1929 debut as a singer in Craiova at National Theatre 1929-1934 - part of Corul Ansamblului „Armonia” din Craiova (Choir "Harmony" from Craiova). 1935 - recorded his first disc at Cristal, romanian label 1936 - graduated Modern Philology University, Bucharest 1934-1945 - singing as vocal soloist in various restaurants in Bucharest, recorded numerous discs at label Cristal (later Electrecord). 1948-1954 - part of Ansamblul de Estradă al Teatrului Armatei din București (Estrada Ensemble of Army Theatre, Bucharest) 1958-1960 - working as artistic instructor « Back to Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
