Sol Hoopii - Biographyb. Solomon Hoʻopiʻi Kaʻaiʻai, in Honolulu, Hawaii, 1902, d. Seattle, Washington, 1953. Acclaimed lap steel guitar player, Sol joined the Johnny Noble Orchestra in 1919, and after a few years he migrated to Los Angeles where he formed his own trio, playing at fashionable Hawaiian-themed venues.
