I seem to have become an unintentional collector over recent years. I love 45s in particular for the music in the grooves and also the fascinating artefacts they can be. The quirkier the better...

I started to buy LPs and 45s in the early-to-mid 1970s - and kept them - but took a bit of a sabbatical from record-buying for many years.

Since my interest was rekindled, my buying habits and motivations have changed. I'll still buy anything that tickles my fancy for musical reasons, but if the price is right, I'll also buy what's not already on here just to add it.

I've come to rediscover and appreciate more a couple of sometimes-overlooked formats in recent years - 78s and 10" LPs .

However, in the box of immaculately kept discs that accompanied it, nearly all with variations on the same shop sleeve, I spied and photographed this disc on the UK Actuelle label - a rather striking label I've never seen before.
Scratchy45 ● 31st Aug 2024		78 RPM Frank Coombs - Silver Threads Among The Gold / Nelly Was A Lady	A later issue credits side 2 to Irving Gillette (pseudonym of Henry Burr). On this issue the Regal label lettering for this is spread horizontally across top third of label, under "Made In England" and resale price maintenance wording. Scans to follow.
