Goodrich and Lane were members of the Special Services Division assigned to the production of "Stars and Gripes" which had its very successful premiere at Fort Hamilton, New York on July 14, 1943.

In civilian life Goodrich had been a comic, songwriter and Broadway performer, appearing in "Nice Goin'" in 1939 and "Panama Hattie" the following year. Lane was a featured vocalist at New York's Paramount Theater, toured with the Chico Marx Orchestra and performed on a number of radio programs.

Ziggy was born in 1920. When he enlisted in the Army he became entertainment director of Fort Hamilton. He was often billed as Corporal Ziggy Lane. After the Big Band Era he went on to have his own TV show, “TV Dinner Date,” based in New York. He later moved to Florida and became a composer and helped to launch careers of some local performers. He also served as president of Carousel Records for a time. He passed away in Miami in 1995.
