Maybe in the US. I'd say that in 1956, the 78 still ruled in Britain, and it wasn't until a couple of years later, when the Philips label issued its first 45s, that sales of that format began to take over. 78s from 1959 are rarer, especially the rock 'n' roll ones, and any from 1960 are the proverbial hen's teeth.

By 1956 if you look at the top twenty charts there were a few 78 singles but eventually phased out

Any time I've seen this label, the print has faded to such a degree as to render the label illegible(unreadable). Something in the gold ink used in the printing makes it fade or wear away. Not that I actually buy 78s as the era they represent(generally), 1920s to mid-1950s* just doesn't appeal to me. Rock & Roll on 78rpm is as rare as hens' teeth(as I've found).

*Australia came late to the 45rpm vinyl disc, compared to Britain, USA and other countries, sporadic 45's issued prior to 1956 but on the whole, 78s still "ruled the roost" here almost up to 1960.
