There was also a later pressing of this disc on the black and white label.

Kitty Kallen had to wait a long time for her only UK hit to reach the top. It spent 10 weeks in the top five, including seven at #2, before it finally squeezed past David Whitfield's 'Cara Mia' for its only week at #1.

I think 78s were long gone by the time of "My Coloring Book"...

Kallen had a more productive time of it in the US. In spite of losing her voice about a year after Little Things Mean A Lot hit, and being inactive for four years, she went on to tot up 13 top ten career hits (See Wikipedia). She made some great records with the Harry James band of which I recommend "It's Been a Long. Long Time" and "I'm Beginning To See The Light". Her next biggest solo record was probably "My Coloring Book", but I don''t know if it was ever on 78.

She did have a minor hit with In the Chapel in the Moonlight at about the same time, though uncharted, having said that, the charts at the time were very innacurate to say the least.

The first 'one-hit wonder' in the UK charts: a number 1 hit, and nothing else.

So what did a Gold Disc certify in 1954?

Great record, anyway!
