 Billy Vaughan started as a singer and pianist in The Hilltoppers. I think he left the group in like 1956 or 1957 though and became the big saxophone guy known for Wheels, Sail Along The Silvery Moon, and Raunchy.

 I am told that the A-side composer shown on the label as Vaughan is actually Billy Vaughn, the Dot label house orchestra leader who was also deeply involved with the Hilltoppers.
