| slholzer 14th Jan 2015 | Thanks, BigBadBluesMan, for allowing me to sample this artist. There is an art to making music out of raucousness. I wish I could say Nappy Brown did it well, but I don't think so. Some of you will like your music on the rough side, and Brown will serve you quite well. For those who would like a point of reference vis a vis raucous but musical. I recommend the Jacquet brothers. Brown took an interesting approach to Don't Be Angry. It's hard to describe, even for me, so I won't. It was novel and it almost worked vocally. I give him points for effort and originality. It's Really You was more under control and would have been better still if the guitar had been more to the fore. | |
