 Allan Sutton's "Pseudonyms on American Records 1892-1942" indicates that the Broadway Syncopators (spelled Syncopaters on this issue) was a pseudonym for Ben Selvin or a unit of that orchestra. Rust's American Dance Band Discography does not list the band under Selvin or mention Selvin in connection with most of the sessions in the chapter devoted to records made under this name, including the one where this disc was cut. Selvin is shown as the leader only on the very first session in the chapter.

According to Rust, two takes of each side were used on Vocalion 14598. At the time Vocalion's practice was to give each take its own matrix number. The four takes are numbered 11503 through 11506.
