 There are at least three versions of this label. Two of them are on the familiar red Dot background, the other is the later Dot black label. The difference in the two reds is that one of them has everything that appears on the illustrated label from the bottom of the logo down printed below the level of the center hole. This creates a noticeably squashed look, especially when viewed side-by-side with the more balanced and distributed illustrated label. Given that the "squashed" approach seems to have carried over to the black label, I would guess that the red "squashed" label is the intermediate label between the illustrated label and the black label. In the black version, the "squashed" effect is accentuated by the fact that the logo is stripped down to the single word "Dot" in large flowing script in three different colors, dead center in the upper half of the label. The associated address and trademark information that used to be part of the logo block is crammed into the bottom half along the outer edge of the label.
