 The description "tenor with Male Quartet" implies five singers on each side, but per John Bolig's Victor Black Label Discography, 18000/19000 series, there were only four men singing on each side, the Tenor also being part of the Male Quartet in each instance. The sides were made on the same day (May 3, 1916) and three of the singers were on both sides: Tenor John Barnes Wells, baritone Reinald Werrenrath, and bass William F. Hooley. Harry Macdonough (r.n. John S. MacDonald) completed the quartet on the side labelled William Barnes while Billy Murray completed it on his own side.
