 Per Bolig's Victor Black Label Discography 18000/19000 series, the members of the Peerless Quartet were Billy Murray and Albert Campbell-tenors, Frank Croxton and John H. Meyer-basses. The group is referred to as the American Quartet in the ledgers.

As was frequently the the case in those days, a group that would have been accurately labeled The Peerless Quartet featuring Billy Murray was instead described as Billy Murray and the Peerless Quartet, thus giving Billy Murray star billing but also implying (intentionally? or otherwise) that there were five singers when, in fact, there were only four.
