 The Dixie Marimba Players have a chapter of their own in Rust's American Dance Band Discography, although by the time this disc shows up, Rust is not certain that the band's identity has not shifted from it's original form to a namesake group formed around Joe Green. In "Pseudonyms on American Records 1892-1942", Sutton favors the name as representing Celso Hurtado's Royal Marimba Band, with some exceptions (this one not listed among them) known to be by Joe Green's Novelty Orchestra.

The Hollywood Dance Orchestra is certainly a pseudonym for somebody. This specific record is not listed in the cross-index for the name in Rust's American Dance Band Discography, nor is Imperial 2308 referenced in Sutton, but then, it's not an American record. The American counterpart of the B-side shown in Rust (Perfect 15315) is not listed either.

These sides are from mid-1930 and they originated with the group of labels clustered around Perfect and Banner.
