Records without A/B designators on the label - and with a star after the matrix number on the B side - were pressed after 1949. This was clearly a big seller for Decca, and therefore differing label variants would have been spaced over the years.

Incidentally, the main font used by the typesetters who handled Decca was Cheltenham Bold, the matrix numbers and indicators on the right were set in Cheltenham Roman. (Co-Service Printing also used 6 point Metrolight with Metrobold No. 2; the printer that laid out type for Richmond, IN used 6 point Bell Gothic.)

There are at least three label variants of this disc extant. All of the versions I have seen are album versions. If there is a non-album single version, then there would be at least one and possibly more additional variants..

One difference is that some discs have A/B side designations while others do not. The illustrated version, for example, does not. I do not know if a label corresponding to this one but with A/B's exists.

Another difference is most readily spotted by looking at the large number that indicates which side of the album you are looking at. The illustrated version uses a Times New Roman style number for this. Other versions exist that use a less robust but taller font for that number. I have seen that type both with and without A/B designations.
