 He would have been just 13 at the time.

This Johnny Moore (1906-1969) was the brother of Oscar Moore, the guitarist in the Nat King Cole Trio. He had a similar but bluesier trio, the Three Blazers, who had a whole string of hits in the late '40s - including "Drifting Blues" (1946), which was reportedly one of the biggest selling R&B singles ever.

The early '50s R&B stars Charles Brown (as heard on this 78) and Floyd Dixon both started out as vocalists for the Three Blazers.
