This was most probably not the first Bluebird of the two- and three-digit prefix series. In the race/R&B segment, Tampa Red's "Let Me Play With Your Poodle" b/w "My First Love Blues" had the lower number 34-0700 and was announced in a Victor-Bluebird ad in the Billboard issue of Oct 24, 1942 (p. 64), together with the first two issues in the pop/jazz segment with numbers 30-0800 and 30-0801.

This one here (34-0701), the next two pop/jazz records (30-0802 and 30-0803) and the first one in the folk/C&W segment (33-0500) were advertised only two weeks later, in the Nov 7, 1942 Billboard issue (page 62). I leave the Oct 1942 release date as is though, as these records may have come out some days before the ad.

This was also the first Bluebird release to premiere a xx-xxxx type of catalogue series that would be applied in October 1942 to all (RCA) Victor and subsidiary releases.

This is the first Sonny Boy Williamson and not his more famous namesake who recorded for Trumpet, Chess and numerous other labels in the 50's, 60's and 70's.
Recorded in Chicago, 11 December 1941 with Blind John Davis, Charlie McCoy, Alfred Elkins and Washboard Sam.
