 During 1946-47, Columbia reissued a slew of old OKeh tracks in country and R&B under their popular catalogue series, intermixed with newer sides being released by their roster of the period. As a result, Columbia issued the most amount of new catalogue releases in their popular series in '47 - a shade over 800. (In 1948, Columbia created two new catalogue series - 20000 for what was then dubbed either "hillbilly" or "American Folk," and 30000 for what in those days was "race" music - and back masters were placed in those respective series, starting on 12 May 1948.)
