 Siffleur is reasonably common in UK English for a whistling performer, especially in music hall during the period when this disc was issued. Its important NOT to apply American sources to the UK when researching - e.g. we don't have marmots :)

 Per the Dacapo list on Mike Thomas' mgthomas.co.uk website, the unidentified whistler on these two tracks is Guido Gialdini. Thomas refers to him as a siffleur, which the Meriam-Webster website says is an uncommon way of saying a whistler (in the bottom 10% of word popularity) and which most particularly refers to animals which whistle, citing a species of marmot.

 I've seen a website that states Dacapo was originally a German label which pressed in the Fatherland with view to export to the UK mainland in 1910. The label ceased to press at the outbreak of WW1.

 Not sure of the country of origin. Appears British, with American titles and 'Reproduced in Berlin' on the label
