78 RPM Record
Notes This is a Venezuelan produced version of a popular Mexican single, recorded and pressed on shellac in 1952. The artist, Ramon Marquez, was a Mexican big band leader and pop artist, while the song composer, Damaso Pérez Prado, was a Cuban born naturalized Mexican citizen, popular songwriter and big band leader throughout Mexico, Central and South America, known as affectionately as "The King of Mambo". Due to a short lived Mambo fad in the United States, Pérez Prado enjoyed a modest following and success there as well. Images
