slholzer 19th Jul 2017		This disc presents an interesting exercise in house style. It is an RCA Victor issue that I'm guessing bears the same number as its Victor predecessor, a fairly common occurrence. Old catalog numbers were carried over en masse when RCA Victor finally decided to replace the Victor logo with its own. The original Victor issue probably had a Scroll-style label and may well have been released in 1935. ("The Night Is Young", referred to on the A-side label, was released in 1935.) That disc, if it is in the database, is probably filed under Victor. This one is filed under RCA Victor, a logo that in 1935 was still years away from being used the way it is here. If this were merely a label variant, we would treat it as the same disc and the release date would be 1935. But this is a complete change of label. It has its own entry because it has crossed a line and become something different. It is probably no longer correct to show a 1935 release date. This object came into existence later than that.
