W.B.lbl 9th Mar 2013		The thing is, in those years, catalogue releases would remain in print for decades, thus they would have multiple label designs over the years (including, in the case of Victor releases, spilling over to after the name change to RCA Victor). It wasn't like in the 45 era with oldies reissue series such as RCA's Gold Standard, Columbia's Hall Of Fame, Capitol's Starline and so on.



Jock_Girl 9th Mar 2013		It would be nice to be able to post these sort of variations with dates on them that somehow preserved the integrity of the original release. I was conflicted with how to enter this record from the label standpoint; Victor/ RCA Victor/ RCA Victor Red Seal etc, and then from the release date. It most certainly isn't 1936, although the Victor Red Seal version was. Problem then is if you have a separate label for RCA Victor or RCA Victor Red Seal these will not be entered with the year correct as most people will fail to look research accordingly. About the only solution I can see is that RCA Victor Red Seal (and RCA Victor as well as its series i.e. Bluebird, Internacional Serie, Collectors, etc) be created as distinct labels with links back to the original release, even if it is a placeholder stub for the Victor version



W.B.lbl 8th Mar 2013		Although the pressing itself looks post-1948 (1946-47 RCA Victor Red Seal pressings would have had the "Manufactured Under [ break ] U.S. Patent 2130239" inside the double ring, broken only by the 1944 version of the RCA "meatball" logo.
