| HBRALLAN 12th Jan 2016 | The original release was credited to Brad Brady And His Tennesseans. The A side, a cover of Elton Britt's Country Hit "Wave To Me My Lady", featuring Wally Fowler sideman Joe Carroll, was the side Bullet were "pushing". However, the "throwaway" instrumental on the flip,"Zeb's Mountain Boogie", was the recording that took off. The initial run of around 1000 discs quickly sold out; upon hearing that Jim Bullet was about to re-order another 9000 copies of the record, Owen Bradley, a pop orchestra bandleader, who initially sought to distance himself from the release, relented and asked that he be credited on the label. | slholzer 18th Dec 2014 | This disc was also issued by Bullet as by Brad Brady and his Tennesseeans. Same titles and issue number, same soloists. Can't say whether they went from Brady to Bradley or the other way around. I am personally more familiar with the Bradley name, so I would guess it was the final choice. He continued using the name on Coral records, in any event. | |
