 Both of these names are shown as actual or probable pseudonyms for Fred Hall's Orchestra in Rust's American Dance Band Discography. Sutton concurs as to the Southern Melody Syncopaters, but has no entry for the Marathon Dance Orchestra.

The Sonny Boy track looks to have been issued on Marathon 232 using this same name. Rust does not list the "When We're Together" track under Hall's name, but does show that Hall recorded "When We're Apart" for Goodson in roughly the same time frame. That would look more suspicious were it not that "When We're Apart" was used under that title on Goodson 7001.
