Recorded in Chicago on July 18/19, 1935 and first issued on Champion 50028 (Race/Hot Dance series there) around October 1935, with the A-side titled just "B & O Blues" then.

"Shelley" Armstrong was the pseudonym used for Amos Easton's releases on the Champion label, at that time a Decca sublabel. Strangely the Decca reissue was still credited that way, although Easton's records for Decca were generally credited to his better known alias Bumble Bee Slim. He had, however, recorded both a "B and O Blues" and a "New B and O Blues" under that name for Vocalion before.
