Thanks for your input. I must confess that steel beam is new to me. Perhaps used only in the UK is the term slab serif. I'm wondering if it has made it across the pond?

 Not aware of Jim Flora until now - I see I should have been. A very distinctive style.

 The label fonts are from Kings Mills, OH. One giveaway was, on 6 point Gothic Condensed No. 1, the steel beam type 'I' (Bridgeport still had a stick 'I' at that point).

For comparison, see here for a Bridgeport label of 37806. Big difference.
