 The Class label was owned by Leon Rene. Googie Rene it appears, was his son. I presume he was a musician, but I don't know what he played. I've never heard any of his recordings. If you have, and you liked them, I can tell you that he made at least 2 78s on Class, perhaps more, It looks by mx numbers as though there were at least two distinct sessions. Only a horribly unproductive session would have resulted in less than 2 sides being cut, and most turned out 3 or 4 depending. Of course, being cut and being issued are two different things. In any case, if you're looking for more Googie look for Class 205 "Big Time" b/w "Midnight", both of which were composed by J. Vikki, the same person who wrote the tunes on Class 214. To expand your chances you might watch for it on 45 as well. I can't be sure it was issued on both, but I wouldn't bet against it. Dad was in the music business.
