Tex Morton was an entertainer originally from New Zealand, who patterned his style after American cowboys and their music. After working there and in Australia, where he is recognized as a pioneer of Australian country music, he spent the period between 1950 and 1959 in Canada and the US.

According to his bio, these tracks were recorded on March 6, 1953 at Castle Studio in The Tulane Hotel, 206 8th Ave. North, Nashville, TN, with Tex Morton [vocals/guitar], probably Hank Garland [guitar], Jerry Byrd [steel guitar], Ernie Newton [bass], Tommy Jackson [fiddle], and Owen Bradley [piano/organ].

These two sides were released in the US on OKeh 4-18014, in Australia and New Zealand on Phillips P-24505-H, and in Canada on this Columbia disc, which is dated to June 1953.

One further record from this session was "I've Got You (Right Out Of My Mind)" b/w "Railroad Boomer," on OKeh 4-18020 (US), Columbia C-2338 (Canada), and Phillips P-24506-H (Australia and South Africa), released in September or October of 1953.
