Fairly randomly I came across a picture of multiples of the yellow "private recording" label stock which were used to label some dubbing from wax cylinders of older field recordings made in Vanuatu. It is suggested that this occurred in 1936 - see this True Echoeswebsite for the pic (towards the bottom of the page). Use of CTPX code described as being from 1932-on here | |
