Music melody composed by Simonetti and Drigo respectively, indeed. The songs are not related to the original pieces, but newly written tearjerkers. (New in 1919, that is :-)
Blindgeschoten is about the young soldier returning home blind having done his duty to his country and now yearning for death.
Visschersbede is about the perils of fishery and that mourning wives are the high price paid for fish.

Am not sure about composer actually - text most likely by Ferry van Delden (who wrote most of his texts). The ref on the label indicates the melody it is being sung to. Very sentimental texts by the way, 'smartlap' genre.

(He'd been fairly successful already as entertainer from ~1915, starting recording in 1919 - so this is (one of) his first records.)

Actually -- the a side is a selection from a composition called Madrigale wrtten by A Simonetti. The B side is selection from a ballet called Les Millions d'Arlequin written by Riccardo Drigo.

I've inserted what I believe to be composer credits, with a nod to uploader, RobertG.
