I notice that the soundtrack album of the day omitted Ave Maria and some others, and only had 8 songs. Ave Maria was only issued on the single, rerecorded by RCA, not the movie version.
Everyone should realize that there are two compositions of Ave Maria. This one is by Gounod. The other, by Schubert, Lanza also recorded, in Serenade.
Did Gounod only arrange this from the Bach melody, or did he compose the vocal melody?

Current digital collections bring all the songs back together, digitized from old records. (Not "REMASTERED" for Pete's sake)

What's the length of Ave Maria here? The 45 was ~2:36. There's a recording around that's over 4 min with instrumental in the first half.
This is not lifted from the movie soundtrack. Was there a different soundtrack album recorded as well?
