These are arias from the oratorios Die Jahreszeiten (The Seasons) (and from the section Frühling (Spring)) by Joseph Haydn, and Elias (Elijah) by Felix Mendelssohn, sung in the original German by baritone Friederich Schorr, with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by John Barbirolli. On Side B, the word Ackersmann is sometimes seen in this title as Ackermann. A well known title with the word is Der Ackermann aus Böhmen (15th century work called The Plowman from Bohemia in English).
